  • About Scroll Lock:

My hobby mutated into a passion. Passion reached a zenith and took the form of an obsession. My obsession demands I revel in the smell of books, to absorb the knowledge that seeps out of the yellowing pages where people of yore tell me their tales. Thus, I am, and shall remain to be in what they call a state of "Scroll Lock"

35mm & 1000fps Slideshow

Posted by Salil on June 10, 2007

Have been doing movie reviews for quite sometime. Never really feel like giving that activity a break. The slide show above is just a glimpse of all the movies that have been reviewed off late.

I am falling behind on my schedule of writing a review a day. I promise I’ll keep that up.

Yours,

Cerebral Zephyr

Posted by Salil on June 10, 2007

Just got around finishing the movie review of Gattaca. Confused? Well its a movie on the indomitable spirit residing in us all. If this movie features in any of the channels (Sony Pix, Star Movies, HBO or Zee Studio) do watch it!

Bugle Blast 1.4 – Nu Page…!

Posted by Salil on June 6, 2007

int-compressed.jpg

Here’s a new page to whet your appetites…the topic is a huge one…its like an ocean one’s trying to cover with just a raft and a spoon for a paddle. In any case, its always better to attempt then to have not tried it at all.

Next on the lot is a post on how to avoid the trap of making an “over purchase” on your first laptop buy. This is for all those Post Grads who are contemplating on what best to buy that will suit their requirements. So watch out for the page with eyes wide open.

Haitus, Alone, Border of Dejection, Obsession, etc.

Posted by Salil on June 2, 2007

eyes.jpg

I thought I’ll post this time on the SOM (State of Mind) that I currently feel I am in. Well, I belong to the “abandoned” genX that lives in Metros and Big cities around the world. The kind of youth who usually find solace at home or don’t have the urge to hang out and have fun. (well we feel busy with what we do on the net…orkutting for example..but I guess I speak for myself).

Its a rather big world out there when your insecurities come to the fore and you rather feel minuscule to the workings of a world too busy to pay attention to gears that make it work. So how can one feel wanted or at least as if one is making a difference? Its rather tough to figure out what one can do with one’s time……

I am usually driven by interests that grab my attention but my lethargy pulls me back to the hum drum of life and I soon forget about it…but not anymore. I need to make a difference. Need to feel the rush, need to feel the challenge that makes your spirit soar….whatever…do whatever that makes you pay attention for hours on an end…when you don’t feel sleepy or bored.

I don’t feel sleepy at movies or discussions about them. Or about books so to speak….or anything to do with the arts…so where am I headed with this post?? Well ask yourself…the answer’s right around the corner…its better to do this exercise before life runs past you and you feel you could have done more or better…

Stay hungry….for life has a lot to offer then just a soft couch and flickering images on the T.V.

Yours,

Cerebral Zephyr.

(P.S: Looking back…..I wasted more of myself in front of the idiot box then making a difference to the way I lived my life…its running past us..grab it while we have a chance…adieu!)

(P.S 2: Checking out for comments, or stats on feeds or readers has been a current obsession and my only reason for going online….I dunno where this’ll lead…..wonder why I (read that as we too!) look out for some acknowledgment or at least a sunshine of approval or a grunt or a chuckle or a harsh critique….anything people…comments are just one liners…if we can speak ‘em can’t we just write ‘em??….disgruntled and sulking :-( )
